IMMORTALITY
Here tranquil lies the body of my friend
But, what of him, is this end?
I kiss the well-loved features I have known
And kissing realizes his spirit's flown.
Earth's life is but school time
For lessons learned each day
Man's soul is traveling homeward
And peasing on the way.
Experience is the teacher
Where intelligence supreme,
Destines man's daily actions
And shapes his every dream.
God is truth immortal
The beginning and the end,
Life's Alpha and Omega,
In everything my friend;
Mankind is every spirit
Like unto God a part
Divinest of creation
God's dwells within man's heart.
The body lies in silence
For death has called the roll
And here within it's presence
I ask, what of the soul?
My faith in God is living
I say with every breath
God gave living and giving-
"There is no death."
